Unicol 76: 91 octane, AKI, best normal premium gas in CA

Same problem in AZ. But, one can always mix in some race gas. I'd do that, if possible, before using octane booster. I've heard too many nasty things about octane booster, but I can't confirm them. Maybe its OK at least in the short term.

I use Sunoco 91 or 93 depending on the price, which at the present is around $3.79 per gallon. Who would have thunk it, how much higher can it get????

Chevron Premium gas (91 octane) is what my BMWs get here in California. During certain months the gas companies as this funky stuff that is suppose to help keep the emissions clean(er).

As suggested in the Owner's Manual and next to the fuel cap, 91 octane or higher.

I actively try to use 98 RON fuel in mine. Problem is not every petrol station offers it here in Australia.

There are a number of petrol stations that off 4 cents/litre discounts because they're affiliated with a shopping chain like Coles (Shell) or Woolworths (Caltex) but these ones only offer 91 RON fuel.

I've only found that BP offer 91, 95 and 98 RON fuel. Needless to say, that's where I fill up.

Actually, in the states, BMW is part of a consortium of auto manufacturers (BMW, Honda, Toyota, GM) who have specified some fuel specifications for vendors to follow on a voluntary basis. The requirements of the consortium align with the requirements set forth in the BMW manual for detergents and additives, etc...

I now only use vendors from this list. They just added 2, but the list is still limited to just 10. Some very big names are conspicuously absent.

QuikTrip
Chevron
Conoco
Phillips
76
Shell
Entec Stations
MFA Oil Company
Kwik Trip/Kwik Star
The Somerset Refinery, Inc.
