So I bought a 545i a week ago or so, I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I was just wondering how the sport package alters the car?

Thank you

If you order a 2009 528i or 535i with the Sport Package, you get:

Shadowline trim
Multi-Contour seats
18" Light-alloy wheels Star Spoke (style246) on 528i and Star Spoke (style124) on 535i with run-flat performance tires
Active Roll Stabilization (ARS)
Sports leather steering wheel
Sport suspension

On a 550i you get the addition of:

Aerodynamic kit
19" Light-alloy wheels Double Spoke (style 172M) with mixed performance tires

Since your car is a MY 2005 545i, I believe the sport package includes:

18" Star Spoke alloy wheels
Sport suspension
Active roll stabilization
Shadowline trim
Sport leather steering wheel

Some people swear by it and others think it's an unnecessary option. Many there have been many statements made by the automotive media about active steering and it's usefulness, but IMO we've lived without it before it came out and other cars don't have it and perform fine without it. However I don't think I've heard anyone state that it is annoying. Like HUD, it's a cool option to have, but I think it's a convenience feature more than a performance feature. When I ordered my car, I ordered it without active steering, but since you will have it on your car, enjoy it. I heard that it's a neat option to have when parking.

Yeah... the 2009 models are on their way very shortly and the year 2009 is a little over 3 months away. Time does fly... unless you are awaiting delivery of a much awaited car. Then time crawls...

No Sport Steering Wheel on 545 (in US)
Lumbar Support is power
