What engine part is this?

But that picture is from oil pan/oil level indicator. Brake booster? Mine is covered in oil toward the bottom. Thought maybe it is known to leak.

If you are talking about the top half of the picture you posted it is the upper pan gasket which is a known leak. The way you posted the picture it seemed as if you were talking about the vacuum pump since you see that clearly

No, I am talking about the part you are referencing. If standing in front of the car looking at the engine, its located in the front just left of the water pump.
