What does the Sport Mode really do with an SMG

The much quicker throttle response and shifting times are VERY noticable. The more you push the car the more noticable they will become, but if you drive it very mildly then you may not notice it as much. Once you get used to it though, if you ever forget to turn it on you will notice it instantly. I always drive in sport mode not only because it accelerates and shifts much faster (and therefore feels better), but also because it is safer. When I first got the car I used to drive it in non-sport mode to save gas, but on a couple of occasions I had to do some emergency maneuvers and the car did not react as quick as I would like, so since then I have been using the sport mode exclusively. It is a lot more responsive and reacts (shifts and accelerates) much quicker.

I notice a bit more on the throttle response but not the shifting. I will have to play with it some more to see if I notice the changes. Thanks to everyone for the input.
