Hey All,
my engine management light has come on (UK, 530i petrol) - so plugged the diagnostics in and the errors are:

2883 - Fuel System
2882 - Fuel System

Any idea what these mean, or where I can find out??

Many thanks.

Kash.

I don't know much but that darn gas cap always gives me an error code. It cannot be on there too tight or too loose...

well that sounds like there is a leak on the gas tank or something.
check if there is any leak underneath your car(like puddle of water) and see if you smell any gasoline after you fill it up inside and outside of your car.

also that fuel system error code sounds like fuel sending unit are having problem.

it happend to me few times after i drove my car above 100mph
hmm interesting that UK is using mph and mpg.... i didnt know that

This is a good one Traveller!

I have a spare 09/05 manual at home and I cannot find this light mentioned on any page.

It must mean that you have a green engine and if any problem occurs,
"We, the happy green BMW engineers, are willing to pay for it".
