UK SE spec cars just come with a non-mp3player single CD - so ?295 for the stacker isnt bad.
What does it cost t get MP3 CD on that spec?

The current 520d SE has THREE power sockets - one a the front (cig lighter) and two in the rear. How many did you want?

cheers

steve

Never ask a rhetorical question or you'll get some bright spark answering it.

--I hate is having to use I-drive to control some of the climate control functions. it can be such a pain. also, if my passenger wants warm air and i want cool air, cool air comes out of all the dash vents. doesn't make much sense to me. but, then again i'm still learning
--There is no phone number search in the navigation. The pioneer head unit i put in my cargo van can find addresses from phone numbers. and saving an address with a name means re-entering all the info after naming the place.
--When i turn off DSC i want to be able to leave huge clouds of smoke or go sideways around a turn without any interference from the computer. that's why i have good insurance.

according to beemer price details from 3 months back, you need to upgrade from business to professional stereo. All you get is addition of twin tuner 'for better reception in fringe areas' and the MP3 capability.

Price is between 250-300 pounds - not worth it for cd mp3.

cheers

The less discerning audiophile may be swayed by the convenience of only having to swap a single disc to go an entirely different set of seven albums.

I've heard that people even buy iPod adapters!

cd changer - where would you have put it? in the boot like earlier cars or one of those daft 6 cd in one slot jobs? In 1960, we didnt have cd or casette or even 8 track, (barely 45 singles from 78's) so thats a bit of an overstatment!
Guess I would put a front loading 6-disc changer where the single disc player is!
Surely with all those gripes yopu are still not driving the car?

Idrive is fine. No bad statment on my wife, but she got a handle on it first time, and shes not in the least techhy.
I drive IS FINE-just take the climate vent adjustments out and take the radio and its adjustments out.
agreed, the key is a bit cramped against the start button.

I dont smoke - neither should anyone in a car. Poor ventilation and its as bad to smoke as it is to use a phone when driving. At least one doesnt set fire to your balls if you drop it,
Exactly so get rid of the ashtrays and provide storage space!
And why are you holding your phone when you are driving? Your car has bluetooth-get a bluetooth phone and keep both hands on the wheel!
cheers
