Thumbs up

This is my first post, although I have learned alot from browsing the forum - a wealth of knowledge is here.

I have a 2004 530i - 58,000miles, sport package, no nav, no logic 7, no cd changer, sat prep

For the last couple of weeks once and awhile there is a series four beeps can be heard. It sounds as if it is coming from the overhead console where the moonroof controls are, but can't be sure. Nothing shows in the I-drive as an error as well as nothing shows in the info center inbetween the guages. It seems to be purely random, not speed dependent, climate control on or off, fuel near empty or near full. It has me baffled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The next time you hear the "beeps", check the clock, it should read X:59, as it occurs about 10-15 seconds before the top of the hour. If it drives you crazy, it can be turned off in the Idrive menu.

Could it also be the speed limit warning? Can't remember how many beeps that is as I have it turned off.

No -- the speed limit warning is more of a single gong sound -- the hour memo is three short and one long beeps just before the top of the hour. By the way, it's supposed to be just before the top of the hour to allow you time to change the radio station over to ah hourly news broadcast channel so you can hear the top stories...

I've been experiencing the same thing and my SA told me it was related to my recent passenger restraint system failure. I'll check my I drive and be sure to tell him.
