What is the difference between a 545i and a 545iA?

Title says it all. It says I have a 545iA and I was just wondering what the difference is. Or if there even is one...

"A" usually designates an automatic transmission as I recall, that's the only difference...

The difference is the A.


As said above: A = automatic transmission. ;-)

Another small difference may be the thickness of the front brake discs :-p I think BMWs with automatic transmissions have 2mm extra thickness, even though not-oem spare parts may recommend the same thickness for manual and auto.

my guess would be that you cannot use the tranny to slow the car down as much with an automatic as you can with a manual.
