Title says it all. It says I have a 545iA and I was just wondering what the difference is. Or if there even is one...

Thank you

"A" usually designates an automatic transmission as I recall, that's the only difference...

The difference is the A.

Another small difference may be the thickness of the front brake discs :-p I think BMWs with automatic transmissions have 2mm extra thickness, even though not-oem spare parts may recommend the same thickness for manual and auto.

Really? Do you know why are they thicker?

my guess would be that you cannot use the tranny to slow the car down as much with an automatic as you can with a manual.

Well, if it is a scarlet letter "A," it means that your car has been around the block...
