Check all the responses, nobody thinks the 520d is a poor choice. You must be thinking of another (stupider) forum.

I don't personally like carbon black, if I want a black car then I want it pure black. I don't want sunlight-driven hints of blue. If I want a blue then it has to be a strong blue (orient? midnight?). I think (and it's just my personal opinion) that carbon black isn't black enough as a black, and that hint of blue isn't blue enough to be a proper blue. Of course that's exactly why some people like it, the duality of it. Lucky we don't all like the same things

 

I have a 520d M Sport in carbon black and love it.

But it is VERY hard to keep clean. I wash it every weekend and by the end of the week it looks filthy.

If I had my choice again I would still go for carbon black - but as somone else said, it's actually a dark metallic blue.

 

what about ruby black too?

 

I know I put this on a previous post but UK drivers, roughly how much are the av. service costs for the 5er? And new run flat tyre if required. Just trying to build up as big a picture as I can?

 

i paid ?180 for a goodyear eagle nct 5 run flat from e-tyers, service costs depends as its condition based, front brakes and pads ?300, oil around ?150, prices vary from dealer to dealer, independent bmw garages can do it for less

 

Check out "Le Mans blue" - I used to have a space grey E60 which I reckoned was the best colour back then, but now I'm getting this one (see attached picture). I think the colour's really nice....

Le Mans blue is a current colour in the UK - not sure what market you're in?

 

i'm in the Uk - looking for a second hand one though - approx 55-56 plate.

 

Silver, grey, black colors are everywhere...

My pick would be Deep Sea Blue and my second choice would be alpine white.
