I was curious about this question. What color do you think has the best resale value? Resale Value being money received when it is time to sell, and the number of days the car would be on the market, as some some colors sell better than others.

I think that resale value and color can vary depending on location. It seems (from many posters on these forums) that a color like white has a low resale value in England but it might have a higher resale value in a place like Florida...

To sort of add to this, how much does color actually affect resale. Should I actually be worried about this if I'm going to buy a car and sell it in, let's say 5 years? 4 Years? 3 Years? I certainly love white but hey if I can get $2000 or more back by just getting black I'd be seriously considering that color.

Silver and black (even solid black) are always trusted in terms of ability to sell second hand. Apart from black none of the other non metallic colours are in much demand.

I ran some estimates on Edmunds.
Silver has the highest resale value. Black is good too. White is lower. The price differences are very small, however.
Using a 2004 545 base model being purchased as a certified pre-owned at 25,000 miles in clean condition, here are the premuims in Chicago and LA:
Chicago:
Silver $49,522
Black $58 less
White $282 less
LA:
Silver $49,802
Black $111 less
White $186 less
