I think you need to be more specific. What type of codes are you trying to read? OBD Trouble / P codes? BMW specific codes?

bmw 530d with dpf light on, need to know what fault codes are and try to clear them, every time i go to dealer they charge an arm and a leg to put it on their reader!

You should see if the Carly or MHD apps are compatible with your car. Check them out on the google play store.

Hi, not the answer I was looking for, I wouldn't know how to find an app nor would I know what to do with it if I found it, I was looking for somebody to say this is what you need and it will clear bmw codes. thanks Paneuro.

hi, thanks for the info re carly, i was considering buying one but it appears amazon may or may not be stocking them in future, I also emailed carly with a question and did not recieve an answer so not convinced its for me. appreciate the info though. thanks Paneuro.

take your car to a mechanic. If you cannot figure out if Carly or MHD can work for you then you will not be able to figure out if a code reader works for you.

Surely I can learn to figure these things out, I have rebuilt v12 Jaguars from the block up in the past, my only problem is a lot of the jargon that is used with code readers but I have to try. There are so many on the market to choose from, it makes it difficult.
