I left my car to the body shop a couple of days ago with no broken bulbs, but today, when I got it back, I discovered that both the left and right backup lamps (white rear bulbs) have been blown out!!
1. Is it possible that both went out the same time or do you think that something must have shorted them? All other lights are working fine.
2. Is it possible those body shop guys screwed with it or exchanged them out for some broken bulbs when they were working on my rear bumper? I'm starting not to trust them especially when I have to get a new bumper because the old one was missing a non replaceable part.
3. Are these bulbs covered under warranty? If not, does anyone know where to get them and how much for each?

Its covered under warranty... or free maintenance. But that does sound strange that both went out together... they're just regular bulbs... nothing special. you can prob get them for like under $2 at any local car parts store.

Assuming both bulbs came off the same production batch, yes its possible for them to both blow out at the same time.
Now if you put two new ones in and they both blow out, there may be a problem

Thanks for the responses. I bought 2 bulbs for $3.49, replaced it, and everything works fine.

Unless there was a significant problem with the manufacturing process, and the bulbs met with standard deviation in failure, I simply offer the math:
The statistical probability of both rear taillight bulbs burning out at once, assuming both were new, and both from same batch, and not caused by an eletrical deviation in current is greater 1:121,000 assuming a confidence ratio of 95%, to whit: 95% CI of ln(OR) = ln(OR) +- 1.96(1/A + 1/B + 1/C + 1/D)0.5.
If anyone cares on the assumptions of the factors, intervals, and assumptions of failure of bulb fillimangts, I'll post it.

That happen to me once when i bought it in for an emissions check.
They told me that when hooked it up to a computer to clear all the
the check lights and other things, it blew out my reverse bulbs.
They replaced it before I left the dealership.

Your explanation sounds more reasonable...I have a hard time believing that both bulbs failed at the same time due to age...there must have been another contributing factor.
