Well, about six month ago (Mid Sep) I replaced battery and registered too. So then I had high battery discharge, dealer replaced one of the door handles, then I had a small accident was rear ended, car spent almost 3 weeks in the shop, because rear bumper were late to come plus they had other work before my car. So car came from body shop to dealer with airbag msg, I came to dealer to check out a body work, and noticed clock was reset, so dealer said more likely they tried to reset an airbag light, so they disconnected a terminal.
So when pick a car two -three days later my clock reset again, but more interesting there were reset to date when car was back to dealer from the bodyshop. So then last weekend I was cleaning a car near the house, tried to play XM radio but it would play only for 2-3 min then shut off, so I turn off all light inside the cabin, while cleaning a car, then check for water leaks in the battery and spare tire compartment and did not find anything, so I start a car but clock was reset again.
So now dealer is telling me my battery is bad, they had read 233 cA instead 850 cA, well I'm thinking it's either alternator, IBS or maybe again battery, but hard to believe. The battery is Delco, and made in Germany 270 bucks.
I read the most problems with electrical system such clock reset, different msg on Idrive of the sudden that could cause by IBS or alternator.

So any idea will welcome?

While I don't know the specific answer to your question(it could be any of them) the fact that your car was at an auto body shop could point to the battery. When my car was in the body shop it was stone dead when I went to pick it up. The shops often play the radio, leave the doors open and generally monkey with all things electrical in a car to make sure everything is functioning. On my last visit to my car it was sitting in a paint booth with one door open so paint could dry. Unfortunately, they don't realize that our cars are energy hogs.
The fact that you also had a rear end collision could also point to the battery and the IBS.
Low charge also points to the alternator. You need some detective work to sort it all out. Sorry for the non-answer.

well dealer decided to keep a car for couple days, after I had argued with them about it's a good battery (Deka), made in Germany and nothing wrong with the battery. After that they called me and said they had charged a battery, test alternator, IBS and battery all good and there is no voltage leakage had found. So more likely body shop had discharge my battery completely, then run a car to charge a little.

Don't be surprised to find your battery dying on you again - once a battery has gone totally flat dead they just don't seem to recover completely even after a long deep cycle recharge.

this is true, and the longer it stays dead, the less chance of recovery.

Yea I agree but it's hard to argue with body shop on it. Of course I could go to manager BMW of Sterling, because it's preferable body shop for BMW of Sterling, and tell him I want new battery, but he could replied to me, my is not OEM anymore, and so on......bla bla...

So what do you think?

Keep an eye on it. Really you'll have to eat this one if it's on its way out. I agree it will never recover.
I've been running an H8 EverMaxx from walmart. It's really an OE battery because all specs check out it's stamped as Made in CZ(czech republic) and with a 3 year warranty its a deal and a half for me. For aboout $100 you can't go wrong.
