I guess...

But, wouldn't a true enthusiast know the difference between a 2004 5 series and a 2003 series? Do we have to go to the code for them to know what car I'm talking about? I mean, if you really know your cars/brands- you can tell them apart just by looking at them- especially given the model year...

I loved Accords so much, you could park a 1991, 1992, and 1993 Accord EX next to each other, and I could tell you what year was what, from the subtle differences. Same for the 1994, 1995, and 1996, etc... Especially a 1994, which was a bodystyle change year... true fans would know this type of stuff, right?

I understand on the wheels though... Makes sense...

Then again, it's crazy that a joker can know what kind of wheels you're talking about, when you say, "Yeah man, I put those 166's on there, and it's looking real nice now..." LOL. You have to really know your stuff, to know what the wheel looks like from the number...

That said, those 166's do look pretty sweet- and I'm not really an OEM wheel type of guy. I prefer that split 5-poke OEM style wheel though... LOL

Not that I'd ever buy an OEM wheel (unless the price was right) though...

^^^ That is kind of what makes us enthusiasts isn't it? The fact that we learn either on our own or through sites like this what 166's are? I just figure non-enthusiasts don't bother learning that stuff, my wife has o idea what an E60 is (and she could care less)

That's relatively easy for this current and the last model but when you go a few more models back, most people won't remember which year something ended and something new began. I don't remember when the E34 came out but I know the difference between an E34 525 and an E39 525.

Depending on the market/location, I believe there are 2003 model year E60s in Europe as they were available for sale earlier there than the states.

Yeah, those are the wheels I like...

Wheels - 19" OEM M167 wheels 245/35/19 - 275/30/19

If I were to buy a set of OEM wheels, this woudl be them...

X-Man, is there a gallery of pics of your car? I'd like to see the side view of it.

Disregard- found it. But looking at those pics, I'm not sure if the one's in your Sig, or the one's in your pics are the M167's.

I like the ones in your sig.

As long as I can remember cars were always diferentiated by their mark. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_(designation) In the UK Jaguar, Ford, Triumph to my recollection all used Mark or MK to specify a different revision of some car models. I think car manufacturers use the model year now more as an incentive to purchase a new car than a real indicator of the revision or mark, it doesn't mean much because you can buy a 2010 car that was built in 2009 which is probably identical to a 2008. The Exx numbers are probably not as well know outside car enthusiast circles as the Mark designation but it quite effectively serves it purpose.

They are OEM M167. The pic in my sig is more updated than those in the gallery.

BTW - Are you the same bighersh from MDX forum? I used to hang there with the same handle.

Anyway, here is another shot of my car (courtesy of DKNewYork)

NOT true, My Friend. Google our first car, the Dixi.
Okay with one notable exception, (freaking BMW employees!! )

BTW, shouldn't you be doing something BMW related at the dealership like writing up a car for service???

Yep. That's the one. I don't go there as often these days even though I still have a '07.
