535i is not yet available but soon. 535d like previous posters said... Both are twin turbo 3.0l L6 engines.

The engine from 535i will appear first on E90 335i...

To be more precise, 535d has the same engine base as 530d, but added 2 turbo chargers (smaller one that puts up pressure in early revs and other, bigger one that picks up later). Figures in Europe are 272 HP (200 kW) and 560 Nm torque. Comes with standard stepronic (6 speed auto).

Please note that 560 NM roughly equals 412 lb. I remember a British car magazine/show testing 535 and it was slower than 545. Torque is not everything.

Only off the line the 535d is slower... In gear acceleration the 535d is a lot faster than the cheapie 545 V8 engine...

Don't believe everything you see on TopGear! Jeremy Clarkson is certified twat and massive diesel hater. The 535d did the TG course in the same lap time as a std M3. They have not posted any time for the 545i. Also during the race where the Stig drove the 545 and JC drove the 535, the 545 pulled away slightly off the mark but JC got in front and the Stig could not get past. They then by-passed the rest of the race and showed the 545 finishing 3 seconds ahead of the 535. A litle bit staged if you ask me I don't believe the 545 is 3 seconds faster than an M3
