Thumbs up

My car just started squeeking and making noises from the front doors. I know that this is a common problem on the E60.

Any fix for it?

is it the windows? what kind of liner material is it where the window touches the top of the inside sill? is it rubber or a cloth/veldt material?

i had a 3 series that had a rubber window sill and that made the windows squeak.

It?s definitely a cloth / velvet like material. No rubber.

Very annoying with these sounds inside a premium car like this

This is a problem that I've had from the first day. BMW has come out with a bulletin (last week) regarding the problem, I suggest that You talk to your dealer, possible solution exist.

Hi

My 520 had a crackling noice coming from all 4 windows. The noice goes away if the windows are slightly rolled down. I told the BWM service centre about this problem and they adjusted something (didnt tell me what) and now the noice is gone (all 4 windows).

Hope this helps.

Exactly, the noise goes away when the windows are rolled down. It would be much appreciated if You could get information of what they did to solve this problem. BMW Sweden has a solution, but I don't think this solves the problem as the fix is to clean the doors with some special silicon remover (as I haven?t used any silicon on my car).

Thanks for the info.

Sounds promising that there are a service bulletin out and that they have a fix for it.

Would be nice to know what the fix is. Sometimes the dealers are not too quick getting updated on ALL THE PROBLEMS OF THE E60!

Maybe understandable but NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Will call service centre monday to find out what exactly they performed on my windows. Hopefully they keep a record....heh (u never know). I also noticed (b4 the fix) that when it's raining, the noise also goes away, is that the case for your car as well.

Great, thanks!

Yes, when it rains, the noise goes away. I've had the problem from day one and it's getting worse.
