After much internal debate, I have made my decision on the replacement for my 2008 550 when the lease is up in October...

Choosing between the F10 and the M3 was a difficult decision for me but in the end I want something more on the sporty side, hence the M3. Placed my order this afternoon for a 2011 space grey E90 M3. Basically has everything but the cold weather stuff!! I have my production number though it is a September build with expected delivery in October, hopefully at the Performance Center. I am very excited about my new toy and can't wait to get it and even though I've been down the order path and know the routine, the anticipation is building already. I have not decided whether I'll lease or buy but I have some time to make that decision. Though I'm tempted to buy, lease rates on the M3 (last year of the current 3 series) are pretty good so we'll see. Oh, and I went with the DCT. I thought long and hard about going manual but just couldn't see myself going back to manual as my daily driver. Did that for more than 20 years! I am also a big fan of the naturally aspirated engines so the V8 in the M3 won out. While a smaller car, the sedan allows me to fit the family though to be honest I may have more than the wife and I once a month at most. As my said to me, this is your man room, get what you want... But I can easily see me in an F10 in a few years, perhaps an M5!

Congrats on the M3! I know it was a difficult decision. I can't imagine parting with mine.

Thanks Mustafa! Yes, a very difficult decision. But I'm glad to have made the decision. The F10 is a sweet ride and perhaps one day I'll want to switch back. For now, I'm looking forward to the M3!!!

if you dont need the extra space, the m3 is a great choice.

GREAT choice! I wish you much happiness with your new M3. I've currently been eyeing the M3 sedan as a replacement to my own 550 when the time comes cause the F10 just doesn't do it for me. With 16,000 on the odometer I've still got a ways though.

Congrats again!

4 doors, 3726 lbs, 414 hp, DCT, normally aspirated M engine - sounds like a winner to me!

I can't argue with your logic. I would go with the M3 over the F-10 also. Man cave on four wheels! Well sort of anyways.

Very good decision in my opinion. Enjoy it for a while (good 24 month lease rates on the M3 currently), and move into the F10 M5 after the kinks get worked out.
