My car is basically parted out except for the exhaust. I will post everything up for sale once I get the new car

My car wouldn't start until I jump started it last night. The car didn't die while driving, but after sitting for about 5 or 6 hours. The car was losing the date/time a few days before this happened. So do we have the same issue? I hope its just the battery, and not the alternator. I'll try starting it this morning...

By the way I posted a separate thread about this: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=81610

I highly doubt it's your altenator. 99% sure it's your battery.
How old is your car?

Its a 2006 530i so just about 3-3.5 years old. Is it true that the battery in trunk has a color coded indicator about the battery condition?

That's not too old for a battery, but I guess its broken...

Not sure about the color indicator.
