Hey all,

Thanks to Blood from this forum for coding up my car last weekend (Fantastic friendly chap), really appreciate it. Unfortunately we found out my car doesnt have Welcome light feature on my CCC or Light module (manufactured October 2005, 530d MSport, UK spec) but is on Blood's 2006 car

such a shame as I love this feature. Is there ANY way of getting this retro'd?

i.e. has anybody changed their light module? if so How much?

or has anybody done an electronic hack with the back of the light switch and the interior light (everything should be able to be done from behind this switch and an interior light feed somewhere) - if anybody has any ideas please let me know.

Are the welcome lights either the ones under the side mirrors or the ones on the bottom of the door?

Welcome lights are switched on when you unlock the car, the angel eyes, eyebrows, registration plate lights and interior lights come on. Looks like the car is waking up but it seams you need the second gen LCM module which was introduced 9/2006.

Gotcha thanks. If I remember correctly, the tail light "tubes" light up as well.

Yes, that is correct, but that's for LCI's or possibly ones fitted via Bruce's cable. I am actually curious what it does for the pre-LCI tails.
