Unfortunately, the "welcome home" lights don't function. I've gone through the menu a bunch of times, trying different intervals, but the lights don't stay on at all. As soon as I turn the car off, they go off. And as soon as I open the door, the angle eyes go off. Then again, I'm probably thinking of the "pathway lighting." In either case, it doesn't work for me.
You have to flick the indicator stalk as if you are "flashing" (when the engine is off), and they will come on

Do you have the head lights set to auto?
I have had to goofy things happen when they are not in auto on/off mode.

Ah. Didn't know that, and don't recall reading that in the manual, either.

bbb, yes, I have the switch in Auto.

It seems as if there's confusion between the pathway lights and the welcome lights...

The welcome lights (page 107 of the owner's manual) are not adjustable and only stay on for a short duration. They are supposed to turn off when the door is opened, etc.

The pathway lights (page 108 of the owner's manual) are manually activated by pulling back the turn signal (headlamp flasher) after removing the key. The duration of the pathway lights is adjustable via iDrive.

You are correct. I tried it yesterday. For a car that's so advanced and has so many automatic functions, it sure does take a lot of manual intervention for the things that ought to just automatically happen.
