I have a weird sound in my dash.

It sounds like a little bird, a squeaking sound. Like something is loose. When i hit the dash, the sound goes away for a while. It makes the sound as i go over small bumps.

It is coming from the speedo area.

Anybody who knows what could be loose??

The clear plastic window over the instruments is rubbing against the bottom fitting. I forced a black coffee stirrer into the bottom of the "window" to shim it so it wouldn't move and squeak. Be careful not to scratch or break the plastic in that area - - gently, gently...

Under your hood, there's two strut bars going accross, tighten the bolts. It fixed my problem and some other members as well.

There is a small animal in your right kidney grille. Help it before it is too late....

REALLY ?!?! Same here - just started about 2 weeks ago and mostly on cold mornings. A slight rattle when driving over "small sharp bumps" (like railroad tracks or speed warning strips [not bumps]). Sometimes when I bang on the dash I can reproduce it - other times not ?!?

I have an appointment to have it checked but it will probably be warm and the rattle will disappear

I've narrowed mine down to the headlight-switch area. But I have yet to address the issue.

IT might be the steel tower rods that hold ur dashboard in place. Thats what the problem was for me.
