rabih11: Per BMW documentation version 13.2 was to update the software to give you the option of turning on/off RDS. MOst everyone else on here how has had their cars updates state that is the way it is now. So either one of two things happened, 1. the dealer really didnt update your software or not the correct version or 2. loaded it incorrectly.

I would just with them on this. Have your dealer reference BMW Service Measure B65 229 04.

I'm not sure that's totally true. It seems that v13 enables RDS only in cars that do not have Professional Nav (the only nav system available in the US).

Is there anyone out there with v13, Prof Nav and RDS?

That is correct! It corrects a coding error in M-ASK computers. Not the CCC computers.

I agree. My car was updated yesterday, October 5th, and my RDS was lost and there is not a menu item to enable it.

So basically they have solved it for people with M-ASK computers but have deactivated it for people with CCC computers.

I have tried to get to the hidden menu of the 7 series in my car, and was able to get in. However, there is no place to change any settings, only several screens that show ECU version details (see attached pics). My current software version is 12.2.

I did exactly what was described in the PDF document you posted, Iceman (thanks! ). I started from the main Idrive screen, holding the knob down for about 8 seconds -- after a couple it goes into the settings screen, but I just kept it down anyway. The subsequent right and left turns of the knob move the cursor up and down on the list, but again just ignore that and finish with the final pressing down. After that, it takes a few seconds for the initial blue screen to appear. Then I pressed down again to select the red-highlighted OSD option (the only one available except for Exit), and it took a few seconds again before the ECU list appeared. There you have to select each individual option and press down again to see the info on the right.

It did not matter whether the car was running or not (but ignition was on), I did it both ways. A couple of times I did not get in either, probably because of wrong timing or presses...

Try again, I hope that helped.

This is the Same screen Im getting! i cant get passed it and theres no real options to choose from. I personally, had my car in park but turned on. It will work turned on. But It wouldnt work turned off for me. Im sure I got the Version 13.2.2.. because you can see that configuration in this menu. It will show you the version of the software you have.

Since the upgrade I also noticed one other odd thing. When I hit the button on the radio to Mute it. And then I turn off my car,, When I turn it back on again, it resets the sound. It comes On loud and unmuted. Before the upgrade it would stay mute, until I hit the button again.

I WANT MY RDSSSSSSS :bashwall: :bashwall:
