weird noise when turning the steering wheel all the way.
Hey Guys, I need some help. recently when I turn my steering wheel either all the way to the left or right it makes a weird noise like its hitting something and continues as long as I hold the wheel all the way, but its only when its completely turned. I don't know what it could be. Any advise?

It's not unusual for power steering pumps to squeal a bit when the front wheels are turned to full lock. This is a rather stressful condition.
Does the noise subside if you back off a bit on the steering?

Totally normal for a squeal when the steering wheel is turned all the way to one side or another. That's the power steering pump stressing at the stop. If it goes away if you just back off the limit by a small amount this is totally normal.

This noise discuss a lot on bimmerfest E60 forum. So it's always at cold weather. Mine back as well, all summer was not there. So I didn't see any fix for this. Just let it go.

I suppose you did actually have a look at the PS fluid level? Not wishing to be insulting, but it doesn't go without saying...

Yeah, that's not uncommon for different cars and PS pumps in general. You might notice some small vibration or resistsance at that point as well, more than normal steering angles, but I think that's part for hte course in some cars. I haven't had my E60 long enough to know for sure on this car.
However if you think/feel a mechancial kick-back or noise from hitting something, you need to get your suspension checked - could be a problem with the inner tie rod, steering rack, or a few other things.
