I see that your guys' cars make all sorts of weird sound. My case is, when I accelerate, start driving, and going up to a hill, there is a loud buzz sound coming from the back.

Is that the exhaust hose or some else? May I fix myself? My car has 92k miles.

could be a loose exhaust shield or similar.

it could be something besides whats shown in the pic.

does the noise occur if you're in drive, holding the brake firmly, and slowly give it gas to increase the revs a bit? dont do this for too long obviously.

or go to rear of car and kick or shake the exhaust pipe, and see if you hear anything.

 

It happens when I drive, and step on gas, for acceleration. I did shake on the end of exhaust pipe, but it didn't move that much. Usually buzz sound indicates a loosen part, however, the end of exhaust pipe doesn't shake too much.

Yeah I have the buzz too. I read somewhere on bimmer forums about an exhaust spacer or something related to that. I'll have to find it.

 

How long have you had it? I'm afraid if we don't fix it soon, it will damage the exhaust housing even more...but I just never got time to lift it and take a look.
