My 530i E60, just reached 2004 km and I was driving on the highway and suddenly in the HUD and in the dash this battery sign came up with warning saying "BATTERY NOT BEING CHARGED, PLS TURN OFF ELECTRICAL DEVICES AND CONTACT SERVICE BLH BLAH BLAH" ---this was in the service thing on the iDrive. Then I started to pull over to see whats wrong and the warning was gone and also from the service thing and everything was normal. This is very weird, If i take it to service they will be looking for a whole lot of nothing and I am also nervous driving the thing thinking what if it happens again.....any suggestions guys why this happened?

 

I would still take the dearlership to short test it. Could have some faults that only occured once.

 

found the problrm. two fuse in the trunk were loose. I went over a rail crossing at a high speed and felt a large bump. never thought something would happen. but found out today along with loosening the fuse , the hit bented my left side front and rear alloys style 124's. and the tire is also damaged. so now i am in shock and pain....need to get drunk and beat on my head!!!!

 

OK PROBLEM CAME BACK, this time no fuse loose. The sign came up, and went away again. Took it to service, and NOTHING can be found. Terminals are good, so are the fuse. Battery Volt is fine.....whats going on....I am so sad...

 

Problem solved ***Replaced Battery**** it was a defective battery
