Sorry to hijack the thread, but someone PLEASE tell me this aux heater is available on this side of the pond?? Where I am in Canada our winters get down to -30c on a fairly regular basis and an OEM option to heat the cabin of the vehicle would be a welcome addition. I recall seeing this on the BMW Canada website as an option earlier in the year, but it's been removed from the site and I can't seem to get any information on the option or its availability. Heh, it's already bad enough that my 2008 550i doesn't have a heated steering wheel (m-sport package) which I had on my X3 and old E39 -- although I'm hoping a retrofit to a 2009 mtech wheel will solve that problem.

Hi,
I've got a 2004 E60 2.5tdi with webasto with a remote. It worked like a charm last winter. Now it's starting to get cold again in Norway, so I tried to use the remote again.. no response, changed the batterie.. no response. Then I used the iDrive, and found the "Independant Heater" option. When I enable this option, it disables it self within 1-2 seconds... The Independent Ventilation works, but no heating..
Any suggestions?
regards
Thomas

Hi Jelden.
No need for that. Check fuses, otherwise pay visit to the local dealer for diagnostics, which is normally done after repairs.
You could change the battery of the remote too.

I have checked the fuse. It was OK. Talk to various dealers that have experience with webasto ( not all of them have that....) some of them suspected on of the two sirkulating pumps
for the water. ( one externally mounted and one on webasto pacage) Need to go to the dealer for a diagnostic to check this out.

Hi ,
I can see that the thread is a little bit old but I try anyway.
I do have some of the same problems with my webasto in a 525d '08.
The webasto starts both on timer and remote but it is only cold air that are blowing in to the car.
I had the car in for diagnostic today but there were no messages about this problem.
The service representative said that they need the car for a day or two to manually look for faults.
They also said that there was a common database where they could search for the problem, but they needed the car.
Do anyone have had the same problem or have any ideas what this problem could be?
Do anyone have access to the BMW service database where they can search for this issue?
There is -10 dgr C here in Norway no and its getting colder.
The Webasto is really a nice thing to have.

what's this comment about 110v and 220v? The Webasto heater runs on diesel or gasoline, not electricity.
I note Webasto don't sell parking heaters in North America but it shouldn't be difficult to buy a kit in europe and have it shipped.
I've got the factory option on my diesel and OMG have it been nice this winter. I haven't scraped ice off the windows even once and every morning when I get out in the freezing cold, there's a nice comfortable cabin awaiting my arrival. It's doubleplusgood when you see your neighbours sliding around on the ice, earwarmers and mittens, rednosed and bent over the windshield, laboring with their ice scrapers and cursing the cold...
