We all know that the weather has an effect on performance numbers.Just to show you how much effect take a look at the numbers I recorded with my GT2 on the same road with my 545 and my RAV4 V6.The 545 numbers were on an 85 degree day at over 90% humidity. The RAV4 numbers were on a 39 degree day at only 17% humidity. The runs were made on the same road in opposite directions.
545 Numbers........................................... .RAV4 Numbers
0-60............5.60 & 5.62 ............................................. 5.58 & 5.60
1/8 speed.....78.0 & 78.1.............................................. 77.2 & 77.0
1/8 time.........9.13 & 9.14.............................................. 9.07 & 9.08
60' time..........2.08 & 2.10.............................................. 2.08 & 2.10
Who in their right mind would ever think that a Toyota RAV4 could post equal or better numbers than a BMW 545?The numbers don't lie. They were done with the same piece of equipment on the same road in both directions.Of course these were my worst times for my 545 and the best times for my RAV4.It just shows how drastic effect that weather has on performance in a NA car.Supercharged and turbocharged cars do not have nearly the same losses due to weather as NA cars.

Interesting.
Whilst not doubting your figures, I'd completely disagree with your statement about forced induction.
For petrol cars at least, they are more susceptable to performance fluctuations due to temp and RH than n/a cars.
Boyles law sadly doesn't mention BMs specifically, but even an old physicist might have fanced a couple of high speed runs in an M5

grogan545,
Do you do burnouts prior to your runs? I'm pretty sure you do. Once, I hopped into my E63 and found a secluded area. I started a run and went sideways. It was like driving on ice. BTW, the weather was about 55 F and the tires cold. I should have known better.
My best 0 - 60 time is 4.5 on 20" wheels. I'm certain if the tires had hooked up immediately my time would've been lower. If I put the stock 18" wheels back on I can easily get 4.0, no doubt.
Before anyone calls BS on my potential 4.0 0 - 60 time, a stock E63 has already recorded a 3.9 0 - 60. Also, I'm nowhere near stock.

Somewhere on the e90 forums there is a post from a person who has a 2006 m3.He went to a drag strip and ran against a 335I in good weather conditions(low temp & humidity). It was a drivers race both running in the 13.30s for the 1/4.They also met on a hot humid day later in the summer. The 335I times fell to 13.50s but the m3 fell to 14.0s.It was not even a contest the m3 lost by several car lenghts.
