Wow, I want that paint on my black Z06--especially. I'd have it repainted if that paint was available; not that the car isn't in excellent shape as it is. Black is just impossible not to scratch.

Wonder if this has already received EPA blessings?

You have to speak to Dupont. They now own Herbert, who develop BMW's paint

BMW's paint is too soft!

Mercedes-Benz has also painted their cars with a special hard paint that doesn't get so easilly scretched.

When will BMW do something about this matter???

The article says the Scratch Guard is good for about 3 years? I'd be interested to see what happens after this paint ages. Hazing? Flaking? Dull finish? Can it be reapplied easily or is it the equivalent of getting a new paint job? I'd be a little nervous if someone told me part of my paint job would expire in 3 years.... hmm... Great idea though! Just remembering nothing is perfect in this world and with great inovations, often come new problems.

read somewhere that BMW moved to water based paint (therefore softer) to comply to EPA requirements for ozone pollutant?!
