I have a pre-LCI and it was easy to add the pins in the rear of the DSC panel.
For an LCI, your photos don't show the spot where I would expect the required unit to be. Did you look at Cockers' posts here? https://5series.net/forums/e60-discu...2/#post1504216 Don't give up, sport mode button is worth the effort! edit: actually someone else has had the same issue as you - https://5series.net/forums/e60-discu...5/#post1516150 Interesting. I'd be amazed if it isn't possible with your car, just keep digging into it. |
Thanks for the quick reply Anthro!!
It seems I am one of the few unlucky ones... it would of been easy to do it behind the DSC box. Imagine my dismay when I pulled it out and found only 1 measly cable :fcuk: I think you are right when you say another user had the same issue... https://5series.net/forums/members/blaz-bohnec-77527/ I´m going to write him but his only posts since he joined in 2013 are all on this thread... plus his bimmer is remapped so I doubt he needed it more than I do. I´ve decided to invest in a cheap Sprint Booster that plugs into the gas pedal if there is no way for me to get the Sport Mode... It would be great if someone could confirm if some e60/e61´s do not come with FDC or if it´s possible to upgrade the delphi unit in the dash... I definitely noticed that there was more room in the container for a bigger version. The problem would be that I´d still be missing cables to plug into it :( Oh well... 13€ for the LED button & cables down the drain, could be worse I guess, I could of bricked electronics lol I read a previous poster on this thread explaining what seems to be my exact issue and he mentioned he took OUT the 7th & 9th cables out of an already full connector :nono: I´m surprised his car still turned on afterwards. |
223inda335,
I believe the LCI came out in 2007 in Europe and 2008 in the US. Also, I believe the N52 engine came out in 2006 models. Yours is pre-LCI and M54 engine. |
