2. FDC_ID_MONITOR (address 00300405) - IDENTIFICATION TIMEOUT FOR DYNAMIC DRIVING CONTROL (FDC)

Is this in the Kombi module? any feedback--does this work to get the sport on the indicator?

Cockers,

Have you already reinstalled the button with a LED? If so, can you tell what connections you used and what kind of button?
Many thanx!

From my experience, accessible throttle out of corners on winding roads is what this sport mode is most suitable for, it's smooth and a joy on the mountain roads here in Melbourne Australia.

On another note, it seems to overtake DS mode, so you can use one or the other but not both, Sport button mode takes over if you're in DS and sport mode is on... But overall, it is a simple and fun install :D

I installed everything (and even bought the light-up switch - very nice) from roskinc. Coming back from a 600 mile trip, I can't honestly say I feel any difference experimenting. Yes, it's a simple and fun install, but at this point, I think it's a gimmick to sell cables unless someone can help me understand how I am not using it correctly.

Oh, and by the way, it is WELL WORTH it, however, to go through Rosinc's videos on dashboard removal and installation. The cost of the switch, for me, is a thank-you for the detail he put into the videos.

Yes in KOMBI. Just completed my 08 535. I also Changed the VO to $2TB and recoded the KGM to $2tb since I didnt want the overly hard steering. I flashed the $2tb firmware (7601458) via winfkp. This gets everything working exactly as it does on a stock SAT car. Sport as well as S1-S5 in the dash.

If anyone needs help in so cal let me know. I'm in the Norco, Corona area

So, I successfully did this mod on a 550i. SPORT button worked great with throttle blips and all.

However, I'm trying this on a 535i and I got the EGS programmed to get S1-S6 to display when moving the lever to S/D and pressing the sport button gives the wicked stiff steering.

BUT I am not getting the Throttle Blips/Rev Matching OR the SPORT in the CLUSTER even though I've tried to program the KOMBI a few times. The FA/VO has $2TB both in CAS and LMA.

I also tried to look up the KOMBI files in NCSDUMMY but I find NO option for turning on the SPORT button in display. What should I be looking for?

Any Ideas?

FDC_ID_MONITOR
aktiv

FDC_VERBAUT
aktiv

search "fdc" or "dynamic driving control" in ncs dummy

Can you repeat minus the acronymes?

Gratitude.

Most of that isn't acronyms its what the programs use to identify modules.

Kombi is the instrument cluster module

KGM is the steering module

$2TB is the VO (vehicle order) for SAT. Google E60 VO for other vehicle order options/info

7601458 is the specific transmission program for $2TB on my car.

The coding really isn't that bad. But if its something you don't want to undertake search craigslist for coders in your area. There are a few that advertise in mine.

Or you have the option to have Wedge do it remotely. You get a cable, then he does it for you. If you use him make sure to donate. He is an asset to the entire BMW community. As far as I know he's the one that discovered the trans firmware flash in the first place.

Not sure on a pre LCI. You need to get a full list of options and see if a Sport automatic trans was offered.

Can you tell me where you got the SAT Flash? I am planning on doing this MOD, have a 2008 535xi and want to see if it actually works. I will be installing all OEM parts to keep the car original. I have the USB cable and NCSExpert and WINFKP running on an XP and have coded some changes to my car already.

Thanks
