So, I successfully did this mod on a 550i. SPORT button worked great with throttle blips and all.

However, I'm trying this on a 535i and I got the EGS programmed to get S1-S6 to display when moving the lever to S/D and pressing the sport button gives the wicked stiff steering.

BUT I am not getting the Throttle Blips/Rev Matching OR the SPORT in the CLUSTER even though I've tried to program the KOMBI a few times. The FA/VO has $2TB both in CAS and LMA.

I also tried to look up the KOMBI files in NCSDUMMY but I find NO option for turning on the SPORT button in display. What should I be looking for?

Any Ideas?

So now that we're on page 60 can someone sum up that indeed this actually DOES something? I can't be bothered to go through every page.

In summary; Yes.

Or not. Depends on the options he has on his car. He has to read the thread.

I looked at the Bentley wiring diagrams this weekend. The originally posted wiring diagram leaves off the fact that switch# S13938 is installed on the M5. I believe that the M5 also includes Dynamic Drive, Active Steering and an electronically controlled suspension, so I'm pretty sure that this button does nothing for the non-M5 cars that do not also have these options installed with the exception of displaying "Sport" in the instrument cluster. I also find it hard to believe that this modification would do anything without some type of coding being required. BMW requires coding for almost everything else after all.

That being said, for $20 in parts and some of my time I did install the Vandal switch. I can't say that I noticed any difference between the "DS" mode achieved by sliding the gear shift over to the left versus pushing the "Sport" button. YMMV

I used the 22mm Vandal switch referenced earlier in the thread.

Well, at the very least it increases throttle response, unless he takes it to the max every day, in which case his throttle is already pretty responsive.
