No coding required, just took me a while to figure out how to make the knob light up properly (P-R-N-D-MS). I had to build a small module in order for everything to work properly.I just made the lci lever/knob swap, I did not change the gearbox (as some PM'd me :P ).

Will do a write up soon and I will present my mods and stuff.

Anybody did this to a diesel engine with automatic transmission? Any differences?

I would like to know the same? Will it have any effect on a 530dA 218ps?

There are not many diesel owners in UK/US I guess, most are petrol vehicles.

As I said, I do not feel any steering stiffness, or gear change improvements. I feel a better throttle response (could be in my mind) :).

I would love some better throttle response. Well I'll try to ground pin 8 and pin 10 and lets see what happens :) I'll keep you posted.

Good job,, looks great.... Cant wait to see it.. im really interested, been wanting that shifter ever since they came out and wished i had it.... Never thought someone would actually do it... when u push in the sport button do u see S1,S2,S3 ect... or M1 M2 M3 on the cluster ? and did the LCI shifter fit right in,, ? or did u have to make it fit ?

Anybody with a pre-LCI manual figure out how to get a clean button install?

I've looked at the parts diagrams, but it's quite confusing with all the tray options and whatnot.

i am looking also for a OEM INSTALL but i guess no one post a DIY

keep hopping :))

I've tried to do this mod but unfortunatelly I have wires only for pin 11 and pin 12.

The pins are CAN low and high. Should I just put wires in pin 8 and 9 and then ground them for a secund in order to get the SPORT mode activated or I need to put add new wires?

Here are some pictures to see how it looks:

Pls read again from the beginning ... yes no pin and/or wire on pin #8, #9 & #10 which are in use on this mod ... what you need to do is momentarily short pin #8 & #10 together to activate it ... you don't wan't to grounding pin #9 (or in contact w/ pin #10) since it's the positive line of the LED.

Yes, but the pictures made by other colleagues are showing the same connecter but with a lot of cables in it. My question was, do I need to wire new wires to some module, or the CAN High and Low are enough. I forgot to look into the female connector (on the module) to see how many pins are available there.
