How can I check if the water pump is working.

I have a 2004 530d

usually, if it's not leaking, it is working.

not always. you could be overheating, and it could be something else. the pump has an impeller, and only if it breaks, will you overheat. the impeller on most pumps, never breaks, except some of the older e36's had a problem though.

My pump was working OK when my 530 overheated in traffic. The fan was obstructed.

the statement was "...and if your not overheating...its working" not "if you overheat, it is your water pump"

i know, i know. the order of the words in an english sentence completely changing the meaning of the sentence can be confusing.
