So, i know you guys are gonna say, get off your ass and find someone and test it to see if you have headlight washers!! well no one is around!

Ok, so i have been using my washer fluid then i get out of the car and it looks like the front fenders have soap all over them sometimes, What the hell is that?? do i have the headlamp washer fluid or something??? if i do then i never knew about it AND IT MAKES A MESS!!!

i have an 04" 530i with prem/cold weather pkg....But i do not see any squirters by the headlamps all i see is the 2 plastic cover things, unless they open and washer comes out of them...if not then i have a problem because sometimes i have a soapy mess all over the fenders after using my windshield washer.

On my mind that cold weather package includes head light washers and those are located under / in those two plastic covers which open when you wash your windshield like you thought.

they work well. they are only for use in siuations where one would care about getting some fluid on the front of the car, such as a snow storm where the muck and salt has coated the headlight covers.

They are invaluable in a country like ours where there is loads of crud and salt on the roads at this time of year. The salt dries on the headlight glass due to the heat of the lights, so you can't see a thing at night. The headlight washers only operate when the lights are on, and then only every fifth (I think) "squirt" on the windscreen. To paraphrase the cosmetic's adverts "It's worth it"

If you don't want the washers to come on, turn of the headlights manually when using the windshield washer (providing it is not dark and safe to do so). The headlight washers only come on when the headlights are on.

You just have to remember to shut the lights off if you use the washers ,I know what you mean about the mess though. I think having the washers hidden is great feature

On my E46 328i I just pulled the connector for the headlamp washer pump at the main bottle during the summer but reconnected it during the winter. There's probably also a separate fuse you can pull too.

Hey bobr, you sound like a NASCAR pit crew member. I'm with you though, I fix LOTS of things with duct tape.
