For anyone in the UK I happened to buy a 1ltr of screen wash from a Total service station. The bottle was Total branded. It has a very distinctive smell, in fact just like what was in the car when it was delivered from the dealer. It cleans just as well too.

How long do your wipers last?....that windex must be killing the rubber....

And "Windex" usually contains ammonia ... that will strip off any wax on your car!

I prefer using plain water as i believe soap stains eventually develop on your windscreen over a long period of time.
Can be pretty annoying in the rains.

The 'blue stuff' that Rudy and other users have mentioned, or the liquid you can get almost anywhere.. can actually cause the little hoses to collect the blue colorations and build up inside the tubes and eventually block the tubes.

Probably will take quite a lot of time.. maybe a decade of usage.. but have seen cars with this problem

The best is the BMW genuine washer fluid they say.

(Oh, and I too use the blue stuff I can get anywhere.)

Does anybody else feel that the washer fluid needs to be replace constantly? I have two BMW, the X5 will cold package and the 3 series with non-cold, and after a few times of cleaning the windshield and headlights for the X5 in that case runs out very quickly. Same with the 3 series. It's like after 10 use, it's asking for another refill already. Anybody experience or notice this? I don't see any soap stain or residue Sahil. I only saw streaks once when I used a cheaper washer fluid.

I just use the gallon of blue stuff that you can get just about anywhere but I'd love to know what they put in the resevoir at the factory. Every time I've had a new BMW, there's been a really great fluid in the car -- anyone know exactly what they're using?

(I've already asked our forum member who works at the SC VPC/VDC and he's not sure either but agrees that the stuff is great!)
yet blue stuff for me too free at Shell petro station in HK
