Warming up your engine
#12
I start but do not drive off until IDrive is fully booted and I hit the accept screen(maybe 20 seconsd).
On a related note regarding the variable redline tick marks; They do represent the MAX RPM. As a little expriment when the engine was mostly warm and the tick marks were about 5000, I put the car in M1 while stopped. I drove off in M1 and it shifted to M2 at the the beggining of tick marks, 5000 RPM.

I start it up, check the display while putting my seat belt on, set the entertainment/idrive, check the mirrors and accelerate medium until it's at temp (a few minutes).
