Hasn't happened to me, but one time only in two months ownwership, radio kept playing after ignition off for a minute, then by itself stopped. PDC was bleeping at the same time while key in, then it stopped with key out, but radio kept on. Maybe this is helpful to establish a pattern.
My real reason to chime in here is to suggest this problem reminds of a computer virus that waits until a certain time and executes. The programmers having fun. The computers in this car are big and powerful. They likely have room for programming 'features' you never see. There may be diagnostic features we don't know about. I know there are dataloging functions that record driver inputs (like times at redline or mph>100 or the like). I don't know this specifically, just educated guesses as an example.

Okay, add me to the list of radio and A/C on by itself. I was showing someone the car today, only the second day I have owned it, I put the windows down by remote and the radio came on and the fan started blasting. I got in the car with the key in my pocket and I could access the whole iDrive, navigation and all functions.

Perhaps field testing Software Version 15.x (Beta) ... for BMW
I wished having the entertainement on without inserting a key. Should become a feature.
Why - ... see below, being advised before, BMW confirmed that a fully equipped E60/E61 - like mine - sucks 25 Amperes + in key position 1 (ignition OUT)
I assume, they calculate listening to Pro Logic 7 (420 Watt maximum) only tuned on low loudness - , because 12 Volts *25 Amperes equals 250 Watt )
To explain, 88 AH is the nominal capacity of my battery, counts 3+ hours until end of energy when sucking 25 Amps - in theory.
It took my son (playing DJ ) only 60 minutes to make the car say ".. energy level too low ... " when I tried to run the car again. :'( No move at all from the starter .
A transformer driven capacity load of 6 hours became due. Probably this is also a feature ...
