i'll post pictures soon. been too busy driving to visit forum.
first impressions:
1) power and driving... wow..
2) iDrive -- i love it. some minor complaints but it allows me to deal with all the entertainment options (sat, cd, fm, am, etc) easilty
3) voice recognition -- very nice, for when iDrive is cumbersome
4) cupholders... no problems fitting tall or grande starbucks cups
5) trunk closure -- way too difficult to close trunk. any tips?
6) rain/snow -- there was some light snow and heavy rains tonight. the 545 performed flawlessly.

Trunk? Ya its hard to close... I just grab it pull it down most of the way slowly and then give it a little harder push to close... I dont SLAM it close or anything... you'll get use it it. Not too bad... I like the automatic Latte launcher tho. Try it. put your Grande Starbucks on the trunk lid instead of the cup holders and hold trunk open button on the key and see where your drink goes.

Don't forget to grab the trunk by one of the grab handles, not the paint!
I think it loosens up after some time. Mine either has become real easy or I've become so used to it that it doesn't feel hard anymore.

Congrats on the new ride.
I think the easiest way to close the trunk is grab BOTH handles on the inside lid and pull it downward quickly. It's not as forceful as slamming if you do it right, it's closes tight and you never touch the paint.
But I digress, stop messing with the trunk and drive...

Congrats and enjoy! Looks like you're one of the few that didn't opt for the sport package. Welcome to that small subculture. 
Tips for the trunk closure? Maybe a soft terrycloth towel to close it with or wipe your prints. Personally, I just close it and don't sweat the fingerprints.
