RPI Scoop and filter, a little more HP never hurts and it's around $189. Sorry bro, but with a $200 budget there isn't much to do. Either Sprint booster or RPI scoop and filter. Good luck
I'm planning to do a few mods it's just I don't want to spend too much on each one, unless it's a chip, I'm Gina look into the rpi scoop and filter tho, thanks for the help!

I must either be naturally lead footed or I'm just not perceptive. When I test drove the '06 525xi and the 06 530xi back to back, I just did not feel the major difference in torque that everybody keeps talking about. I decided that the difference of about $2K in price for same mileage, same year cars was just not worth it to me for an extra 40 HP. I figured that there may be lots of cheaper ways to get an extra 40HP than spending $2K, but I have to say that so far I don't miss the extra 40HP. Is it just perception that people think they have all that extra power or what? Anyway, I have never driven a 545, but I would imagine that I would be able to really feel the difference, but I honestly feel that the 525 can get out of its own way and is agile enough to take on many cars on twisties and highways alike. BTW, to the original poster, top speed is computer limited to 145 on all engines except for the M5 which can go as high as 155.
ya I'm prob leaning more towards rearanging the computer to get it's full capability, then putting the extra little things

If anything I'd get a 550i, or an m5, maximum power!

+1. On my 4th 52's series and no complaints. Well it all depends on the purpose of the driver(s). I like to get from point A to B in the most secure and comfortable way. The 52's it just perfect for it.

I don't quite agree, before I bought my car I wanted a I6 and I looked at both the 525 and the 530, I went with the 530 because of not only better power (184 vs 225 for my 2005) but, amazingly, better fuel economy. See the specs below:

BMW 525i Engine

MY: 2004 - 2005
Type: 2.5 Liter I6
Max Power: 141 kW (184 hp)
Max Torque: 245 Nm (175 lb-ft

Fuel Economy:
Manual: 17 mpg / 26 mpg / 20 mpg

BMW 530i Engine

MY: 2004 - 2005
Type: 3.0 Liter I6
Max Power: 170 kW (225 hp)
Max Torque: 300 Nm (220 lb-ft)

Fuel Economy:
Manual: 18 mpg / 27 mpg / 21 mpg

So yes, I found $2k more for the 41 extra horses and 1 additional MPG well worth it. $2k for 40 HP is a real bargain, any aftermarket mod would be hard pressed to equal that because it translates to a total of $50/per HP which in terms of power is pretty cheap.
