@ Flowerfred,

In fact during some software uploades on my car in the past my CCC units broke down two times and had to be replaced; big problem was that these parts were in backorder so I had to drive the bimmer a while with some parts (mobile phone/navigation) partially functioning.

my voice recognition option (VC) will be build in as soon as a Dutch 16.2 will be available; than I do not know if I have a choice of either chosing german or english as preferred VC langauage.

Hope your problems are solved a.s.a.p.

I am going to retrofit VC. Cost is about ? 45, for the parts and about 75 minutes installationlabour. Then some new software has to be loaded.

I made a deal to pay the parts and installationlabour only; the sofware update is done under "guarantee" because I get at the same time 16.X with dutch menus and birdview navigation and other minor bugs are hopefully solved by that update (radio stations have "LOCAL" name etc

try to make a deal too

It's good to be here and find a board dedicated to the E60. www.bmwland.co.uk is my usual hang out it's still predominently E39's on there.

As for the upgrade costs, ?250 does not look to bad after another dealer quoted me over ?400 by adding an extra 75 minutes labour for reprogramming the software.

Am I right in thinking that the upgrade is the full voice activation and not just phone dialling?

Sytner, Nottingham. It is the full voice activation - I don't have the phone.

They are considering removing the retrofit kit and try the new computer then..

Blast Fred, this seems to be yet another horror story; hope they solve it soon as mine will be retrofitted in a couple of weeks when 16.2 nav voice has arrived in the lowlands.
