Vibration when accelerating
#1
I feel some vibration from the floor of my E60 523i 2005 under normal acceleration. I find the vibration quite annoying in a luxury car. The vibration is not very much but you can feel it on your feet. The vibration seems to get more as you accelerate harder. The steering feel is okay. Could it be the load on the Steptronic transmission or engine? Any thoughts welcome.

Is it only during acceleration, or is it when maintaining speed and/or coasting in neutral? I have some constant vibration at > 30MPH due to the run flat tires. It could be that.
I recently had a rumbling/vibration noise during acceleration. It was preceded by a fairly loud bang during a fast launch. It turned out I broke the right rear CV joint.
If you can't safely determine the cause, I'd suggest hitting the dealer or a BMW specific shop. If it just started, I'd do so soon.

It happens during acceleration, not when coasting or slowing down. I have normal tyres, gladly not run-flats. Could be the transmission or engine mounting. Suspect could be load on the transmission. If I'm at standstill and auto in Park, the car is okay if I rev the engine. Willl send to dealer to check next time in.

Get a road-force balance of all 4 wheels/tires to rule out any issues there. If they are not the culprit, then you can at least cross that off your list. Good luck!

My Ride: 08 550 Carbon Sport Almost everything factory, but no sound upgrades.
Have had some vibration while accelerating. Was concerned until I noted the Lane Deviation Waring was doing what it is supposed to do.
