Hi all,
I have owned my 06 535d M Sport for over 2 months now. She is on 19" Spiders as per standard from the factory as optional extra. The tyres on it were basically within 2000 miles of new all round. The car as been perfect apart from one issue.
From 50mph plus I feel a constant continuous vibration which seems to get worse with speed. I assume the same problem is there at under 50mph but it it just masked by the lower speed. At 70mph on newly tarmaced motorway it is consistently the same level of vibration even on such a new flat road. Can anyone help work out what this could be? Note the following:
- The car drives perfectly straight when I let go of the wheel
- There doesnt seem to be any uneven wear on the tyres
- Tyre pressures are all ok
- I had my brake pads replaced about 2 weeks ago. The vibration is the same now as it was before the pads were done. When this work was being carried out the mechanic mentioned to me that the track rod end would need changed soon as there was slight play in the wheel. Could this therefore be the source of my vibration? If so is it best I get both track rod ends replaced on the front wheels? Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.
