Mmm...here's an interesting one! I park my new LCI 535d the other day, and when I return about an hour later the front drivers seat has completely moved - right up to the steering wheel.

I think the back rest and the wheel had also moved.

Now, I've heard of the CD player continuing whilst the car is switched off, but this is rediculous!

Anyone else experienced the same?

+1 on the CD player part, but I haven't had my seats move on me yet...

BTW, dumb question, I thought that the DVD player for the nav system could play a regular DVD, since in the iDrive there was a DVD option along with the CD???

I have had this happen to my X5, but not my e60. On the X5, sometimes when I exit the car and come back, the seat, mirrors, and stearing wheel are in a different position. It seems to be one of the other memory positions that it goes to. Like I said though, it has not happened on the e60.

Did you (or maybe family member) use second key by any chance? Every key has it's own seat and radio setting.

well it happened to me when my car thought it was being robbed. I left my mom and sister in the car but pressed to lock it with the key a short while later the alarm went off and the seat moved all the way up to the steering wheel. I thought I read somewhere that the E60 has sensors that detect if someone is in the car when they shouldn't be i.e. me locking the car from the outside while people were inside?

even just thinking about seats moving by itself gives me the creeps... haha... maybe because it is late night here, and too much imagination right now... haha

Inside motion sensor is a part of BMW Alarm systems. It will detect any movement inside if the system is activated. The motion sensor can be deactivated by pressing "Lock" button twice. You can confirm that by looking at the alarm LED, it will stay on for few seconds instead of going immediately into "blinking" mode.

This may be a feature designed to trap the robber against the steering wheel until the legitimate owner arrives

Nope. The DVD is for Nav only. If you want a DVD feature through your iDrive, go here: http://www.tvandnav2go.com/

A few members have purchased the converter from him. You'll need a source, such as a DVD player or a video ipod to play it.
