My dealer reprogrammed SMG.....(I think which was what recall is about)
It feels like new car now....so much firmer...and shift smoothly
(whenever you guys have chance, stop by dealer to see if there's any open recall)
Reprogramming done twice while owning my car for little bit over a half of year.
anybody else have same issue?
I am assuming that several issues force BMW to drop SMG

I just bought a 2004 530i with smg, i have been trying to look all over to see if this is a good buy. Can anyone share any experiences? I could not find any one other than this post that shows e60 came with smg. All my research shows only m5 with smg. PLEASE HELP!!!

no, other cars were available with SMG. there just aren't too many of them as most people went with either the automatic or the 6-speed manual gearbox. when I was looking for my E60 I came across an SMG 545i that I was considering.
