But for now enjoying every minute of keeping it spotless...Hopefully will get enough time to be a regular contributor to this forum.

Congrats. I like the black 545/550 non LCI. I wouldn't mind two V8 fivers. Lets hope gas doesn't go to $6.

Don't think reliability is a problem and 05 is better than the first year 04. The original look really appeals to me. So I'm a 04 thru 07 fan. A bangle classic.

Good luck.

I think we all take time to get used to the new designs, give it a few more years and we'll probably think the o-10s are the best thing ever. BMW had a good lease offer on the '11 535, for about $675/month.

By the way, I saw that you enjoyed some driving in the alps? Must have been a great experience. I have driven in Europe before, but just non-glamourous highways from Lenze to Munich...and Brussels to Paris.

Wooo Ogg, that's a pretty good record!! I got mine with pretty high miles (88k), but it was a one owner vehicle and excellently maintained, got to review all service records before buying it. Is yours a manual as well, did you change the clutch yet? I understand that needs done around the 100k mark...

But thanks for raising my hopes about the reliability of the 545i, I keep on finding execuses to go out for rides

Thanks, your 550 sounds to be great. How do you like it so far? I would like to eventually get rid of my Ford and trade in the 545 for an 08 or 09 550 with factory warranty.

not sure how reliable the E60 is but back in the days when I was in my early 20's, owned a 535 v-8, with good maintenance, got it up to more than 170K before I donated it away for tax purposes so as long as you take good care of it, I don't see why it can't get up there in mileage.

Unfortunately mine is not manual, but I'm sure you'll easily find a thread or person in here to answer that
