Vehicule Trim
Hello everyone,
I have a 523i 2006 European specs (the car is in lebanon), the car is fully equipped except that the trim is not aluminium or wood but its plain Silver plastic (lthe same on some automatic knobs) (i think its the standard trim you get on this car.)
I would like to know, is it possible to swap it directly with wood ? do i need to drill any holes ? is it 100% compatible ?
I just bought the wood trim, but i am in montreal now, i will go back to lebanon in 2 months.
thank you

You shouldn't problems with compatibility. Now ability to replace them is the kicker. Search the forums for trim replacement instructions

All trim pieces are interchangeable on pre-LCi cars (and I presume the LCi car trims are interchangeable too, but obviously not between LCi and original E60).
If you are going the "Wood" route, then you will also need the door handles too, as the fixings for the trims on the doors are very slightly different.
I would suggest that you have a look around where you are now for some wood trims, and take them back with you. It seems that on that side of the Atlantic, wood is not the trim of choice like it is over on this side, so you should be able to pick up a set over there relatively cheaply.
