After reading various posts from you guys concerning 'omg the police!' and 'my V1 saved the day' escapades im interested in purchasing one.
However here in the uk im looking at around 400-500 quid for the unit. In the USA its $399....
400 dollars is around 300 quid. I travel to the US a lot and may well purchase one when im next there so i can get some additional coverage on my car (i already have a new roadangel but this is fairly crap at detecting laser signals).
Does the V1 sold in the USA work in the UK and is it legal for over here?
In addition to the V1:
If i were to buy a radar jammer and bring it back would it be
a) legal
b) cause problems as i travelled
c) if it wasnt legal then could it be concealed so it could infact never be found without ripping apart half the car
Not that id ever even think of concealing something like that.
Its purely hypothetical you understand..
(the best radar jammer in the US that works in the UK would also be great)
Thanks guys

Have you thought about a GPS based device that includes optional Laser and Radar detection? e.g. Origin B2?

Not sure it would work in the UK, depends what frequency ot is set up to detect.
Within the next couple of months all laser and radar detector devices will be illegal in the UK.
Only the GPS types which purely record and display speed camera sites will be legal as they are using published public information.

You might find it difficult to conceal, if it cannot be seen, then it probably cannot 'see' the speed measuring device, you also run the risk of having your car seized for proper examination.

Didn't the Bill you're all doomsmongering about get canned last year? Note the dates and the "if" in the link...

No, it is still in the pipeline, it is the timescale that is unknown.
Depends on whether other government business keeps it on the back burner.
