Valentine 1, am I using it wrong or does the Escort 10 times better ?

I've been a customer of Mike Valentine's since he founded Cincinnati Microwave and invented the Escort. (I still have the original Escort in the attic somewhere!) I bought the Passport when it first was introduced and then placed my order for the Valentine One before they were even shipping (I waited close to a year for it to ship.) In case anyone didn't know, Mike Valentine is pretty much the authority on how to engineer a radar detector. He left Cincinnati Microwave to form Valentine Research many years ago so the current Escort/Passport models have no connection to him or his talents as an engineer.
