to me it appears that V13.3 is slower than what came origianlly installed on my 530. while i had the cell phone cradle installed, they upgraded the firmware/software which as per the shop forman was supposed to speed it up. when i first turn the car on:

Key IN.
~15 seconds-20 seconds @ the BMW screen
~5-10 seconds till hitting the ACCEPT/OK button will work.

when i go into a menu, sometimes it will take 3-4 second untill that menu loads.
when i dial a number, alot of times i will have dialed 3 digits untill they all show up at once.
when i turn the iDrive knob, it does nothing, waits 2-3 seconds, then jumps however many clicks ahead & such.


to me it appears as if it is much slower to boot/begin, and lags more. also .. when the dealer reprograms/upgrades the software, does your address book (NAV) always get lost? because mine sure did - which i was NOT informed off before.

i got it last week. i wish they'd use the same iDrive controller/computer as the one in the 745's ... that thing is QUICK, and lightening fast compared to the one in mine. i tested on dads 745Li earlier today & darn near was shocked. made me want to trade/sell my car due to it.

i'm going to have the new s/w update again next week. most likely is version 13.3. hope i don't have this problem .

just got a voicemail from my dealer ... they want me to come back in, in about 2 weeks when they will be expecting a software update once again which should "cure" this issue. hah .... we'll see.

I have 13.3 and it definitely is not any faster, may be slower -- don't know.

I got 13.3 to get Bluetooth. It wasn't faster. Same times described in the first post. I never used the BT for the first couple of weeks as I didn't have a compatible phone. I think its even slower when it is trying to establish a BT link.
Once it gets going its fine but takes its time getting there.
The address book was still there when they upgraded me to 12X. I lost it at 13.2 but it remained at 13.3

There are a few of known issues that this version has, and the update should fix .... (right ..... lets hope so)

1. after you remove the key from the ignition, a key symbol is in the dash & the DONG ... DONG ... DONG ..chime keeps ... donging?! ...

2. unbearable slowness of the system

3. Very slow system ... .

4. SLOW system.

had i mentioned yet that iDrive is SLOW!?

they said within 2 weeks there should be an update available.

I've got the version 14.
It seems to be slower at the beginning, when booting...
Also the FTM is very sensitive (my dealer warned me about it). This will be fixed and waaaay better in version 15.
